Gepeto

Gepeto is software that allows kids to draw upon their natural storytelling abilities to create interactive animations easily and intuitively. Kids narrate their stories orally and sync this narration with movements made using physical markers (augmented reality). This type of intuitive storytelling mimics the way kids naturally play and circumvents the need to use a keyboard or mouse, or even having to type on a tablet screen. Users move images and animations through 3D space in ways that otherwise would be highly time consuming and require significant experience with design software. Even young kids or those with learning challenges can use Gepeto to animate stories easily. Once recorded, users can ‘remix’ new versions of the story they are telling. Characters and backgrounds are easily swapped and new story layers can be easily added.
