Affrodable Laptop: Astron’s mission is to promote digital literacy, foster communication, improve health and enhance lives by removing the digital divide and providing the world’s poor with access to affordable computer technology and information. We bring digital technology to the doorstep of the world’s poor and open up exciting, new opportunities for them. Many people, living in remote, rural areas are unfamiliar with computers but they possess an eagerness to explore the world of knowledge and engage with a broader community. Through training and skill development, we teach the world’s poor how to navigate the Internet and use various computer applications. The poor of the world have a limited financial capacity to buy digital technology. We have designed a financing model in partnership with leading micro-financing organizations to make these technologies affordable through extensive and established ground level networks.
